Discovering The Occultus
It had been many years since the people of Earth decided to explore out side our known solar system.
Amongst the many liveable and comfortable planets, the Explorers on the Cosmos, the exploratory starship, discovered a bountiful, and unclaimed planet, filled with rich oxygen.
Upon further exploration and testing, they gave the go-ahead to begin the colonies.
It was unanimous amongst all those who step foot on the planet, to name it The Occultus, 'The Hidden World'.
Not long after the Explorers settled, and began building homes, they discovered a wide variety of Fauna, one of which was a large wolf-like creature, standing over 5 feet at the shoulder and had two large horns protruding from the back of their heads.
The creatures would watch the humans as they went about their days, keeping their distance, always observing.
The second generations followed the first, this time, a few brave people began to approach the large creatures, and found they appeared almost tame.
The large creatures did not seem to back away in fear, nor did they show signs of aggression.
Instead, they allowed the humans to walk up to them.
Upon standing directly in front of them, they saw the creatures' eyes were closed, but somehow were still able to follow the peoples' movements.
One man stepped forward, and gently placed his hand on the creatures' head, expecting the creature to react in a fearful or defensive manner.
The creature simply sat there, calm and still.
As more of the people drew closer, the creature stood, turning it's head to the depths of the forest.
A large bear-like creature, that appeared to be made of a kind of goo, roared, and charged towards the group.
The wolf-creature stood, slightly smaller than the enraged bear creature, and puffed the long mane along it's back, bearing it's fangs and biting at the new creatures' body.
The bear creature looked between the wolf creature and the group of humans and backed away into the forest once more.
After the bear creature was long gone, the wolf creature returned to the first human.
From there it was pretty easily decided what they would be called, and the Guardian Wolves were officially welcomed into the new human colony.
